Palapa Ring Middle is a domestic submarine cable network within Indonesia, connecting 20 coastal and island locations including Bangga, Baubau, Buranga, Kendari, Lakudo, and 15 more. The system provides essential telecommunications infrastructure for communities that would otherwise depend entirely on satellite or microwave links. Indonesia, the world's largest archipelago with over 17,000 islands, relies heavily on domestic submarine cables to connect its geographically dispersed population. GeoCables maintains health checks on this cable using distributed RIPE Atlas probes, with automated anomaly detection triggered when RTT exceeds 4x the historical baseline.
