# GeoCables

> GeoCables (geocables.com) is a live monitoring and research platform for the world's submarine internet cables. It runs its own global fleet of measurement probes, continuously pinging and tracing 700+ undersea cable systems, and publishes real-time latency, outage alerts, route anomalies, and in-depth research. All figures on the site are real measurements collected by GeoCables' own infrastructure — not aggregated third-party data.

- Coverage: 700+ submarine cable systems, ~2,000 landing points, measurements from probes on several continents, refreshed continuously (latency checks run around the clock; most pages show data no older than a few hours).
- Every cable page (/cable/{name}) includes: route and landing points, length, RFS year, owners, live round-trip latency measured across the cable, 7-day baselines, and anomaly history.
- Outage and anomaly claims are backed by numbered alerts (e.g. #2026070501) with detection timestamps, baseline vs. spike latency, and resolution times.
